In this Post I will Talk about the meaning
brand’s Logo,I will differenciate these logo to 3 different segments,low,middle
and high,the brand category that I pick is cars,so here are my thoughts with
the information from many different internet sources.
Low Segment
Toyota
I Choose Toyota as my Low Segment Brand because
Toyota have a mass user in low middle economic consumer,it is a very common
brand that focuses on making a cheap,reliable car rather than high tech luxury
car.
Since entering the global market, Toyota
initially did not have a company logo. Even a number of cars that entered
Indonesia at that time, such as Kijang, did not use the logo and only used the
company's bright name, namely TOYOTA on the front.
Until finally in 1989 Toyota officially used
the company logo and chose two elliptical circles that 'touched' each other and
were in a larger circle.
The logo is quite familiar to all people of
the world. But did you know about the meaning of the logo?
Quoted from various sources, Toyota chose the
logo because it is similar to the letter T which is the first letter of the
company name.
In addition, consider the image below. The
Toyota logo, when separated and observed more clearly, will form the name of
the company itself. The logo turned out to consist of the letters T, O, Y, O,
T, and A.
From the official Toyota site found three
ellipses used for the logo also have their own meaning. The first ellipse
represents Toyota customers, the second ellipse symbolizes the commitment to
provide the best and satisfying customers, while the ellipse is interpreted as
an unlimited choice for technology and innovation.
You can tell from the logo that the toyota logo is not as elegant and meaningfull as the other two logo,but i would say that the logo doesnt have to be sophisticated for this segment because the customer that buys the product is less care about the esthetic and the elegant of the logo neither the design,toyota sells car that is cheap & affordable for its customer,so it suits the characteristic of the company.
Mercedes Benz
I Choose Mercedez Benz as my Middle Segment
Brand,because mercedez benz is a luxury but affordable car for the middle high economic
consumer,the brand is focusing on making a everyday use car but have some luxury
touches to it.
Mercedes-Benz (German pronunciation: [mɛʁˈtseːdəs
ˈbɛnts]) is a German automotive company that manufactures various types of
vehicles such as cars, trucks and buses. Mercedes-Benz is one of the best known
car companies in the world and also the oldest car company in the world that
survives until now. Their car is famous for technology and has a high level of
security.
Mercedes-Benz is a division of Daimler AG.
The origin of Mercedes-Benz originated from Karl Benz’s discovery of the world’s
first petrol-fueled car that was patented in January 1886, the Benz Patent
Motorwagen. And services from Gottlieb Daimler and technician Wilhelm Maybach.
Mercedes cars were first sold in 1901 by Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft. The
first car to use the Mercedes-Benz brand was produced in 1926 after a merger
between the Benz company and Daimler became the Daimler-Benz company.
The Mercedes triangle star logo has a special
meaning – the dominance of the company which includes land, sea and air. While
the name Mercedes comes from an Austrian businessman and automotive lover, Emil
Jellinek. He has a child named Mercedes.
Jellinek not only sells
Daimler-Motored-Gesellschaft (DMG) cars but participates in the first motor
racing in Germany. At that time he was driving a vehicle made by DMG behind his
pseudonym, Mercedes.
At that time, Mercedes referred to the team
and driver names. However, now Mercedes is the result of the merger of two car
companies, Daimler-Motored-Gesellschaft or DMG, which was founded by Gottlieb
Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach, and Benz & Cie, which was founded by Karl
Benz. The current logo, stars in a circle, was introduced to first time in
1937.
I Would say that the Mercedes Benz Logo is very classy,the simple 3 stripes that represent he dominance of the company which includes land, sea and air,is very interesting and simple,it suits the simple and classy design of the car.
Lamborghini
I choose Lamborghini as my high
segment,because it is a very luxorious sports car that not everyone can buy,the
price for this car is very expensive,the manufacture focuses on Luxury & Performance
for this brand.
Who does not know the big name Lamborghini.
The Italian supercar producer is known as a producer who often gives birth to
powerful cars with a price tag that is also very fantastic.
A bit of history, a manufacturer based in
Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy was founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini in 1963.
But did you know, apparently behind the Bull
emblem that adorns the Lamborghini logo turns out to have a fairly unique
meaning. The reason is, when talking about bulls, these animals do not fit into
the range of products manufactured by Lamborghini which generally have large,
super-fast power.
After further investigation, it turned out
that Ferrucio Lamborghini chose the Bull logo because Ferrucio Lamborghini was
born on April 28, 1916, which means he has the Taurus zodiac which indeed
symbolizes the Bull. Similarly, as quoted from the famouslogos page.
That's the consideration Ferrucio who finally
decided to choose the Bull as the Lamborghini logo. In addition, Ferruccio is
also known to be very fond of bullfighting.
Matter of choosing the gold color on the Bull
logo, it also has meaning. Ferruccio claims the embedding of the gold color is
a form of consistency, strength, and courage.
In my opinion Lamborghini's logo represent its Luxorious style,besides its cool look the logo tells the story of the Brand Founder which is Ferrucio,i think the logo is very meaningfull and fit with the product with the fact that lamborghini is a powerful machine same as The bull.The customer that buys this kind of expensive product,is aware and care about the esthetics of the car,so by the stories and the meaning of the logo it is very suitable for this type of Brand.
